Howdy all!
Want to help me with something? Something fun, I hope? I am currently writing copy for my web site and am going to include two pages: a “Writers’ Corkboard” and a “Character Chat.”

For the Corkboard, I am looking for seminars, web sites, conventions and short tips that can be posted there to help other writers like us improve their skills, make contacts, network with agents and publishers, post their work, sell their work, etc. Anything short that you can provide would be great. It will be included along with your web address or dA address so visitors to my site can sample your work too. Things like: “There’s a great blog offering tips for writing query letters and getting published at nelsonagency.com” OR “I post a lot of my writing on deviantart.com. The readers there offer helpful comments for improving my work.” Get the idea? I will take as many suggestions as you can share. I hope to update the page every couple of weeks in order to keep visitors coming back.

For Character Chat, I would love you to suspend reality for a moment or two and write questions to specific characters from Fellowship or jon.com. I will then post those questions along with their answers FROM THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES. I will not reveal the endings of my novels, but I will be as honest as possible. Again, this is to lure visitors back to the site to see what new questions have been posted and what the character in question has to say for him- or herself.

Willing to help? I will reward you anyway I can. For example, if you have self-published a book (or eureka! been out-and-out published), I will recommend your book and tell readers how to buy it. If you want hits on your dA page or your personal web site, I will send then there. If you have other art to view or sell, I’ll recommend that too.

Whatever you can do to help will be remembered and rewarded. So thanks in advance.

Denise

Have you heard anything about dA cracking down on erotic literature? I've been told it is so, and that deviants under 18 are now barred from viewing items tagged "mature content". I have no problem with the second move. As a mom, I prefer the kiddies not be reading my more graphic stuff. But I've been told some writers of erotica are taking their postings elsewhere. Do you know anything about this?
:iconxxmedicated:
I've heard of it, but I thought it was just a rumor. I'm waiting to hear more about it before I go changing anything. I'm sure dA will make an announcement if it becomes a serious movement.

Relationships are like glass... sometimes it's better to leave the shattered pieces than to hurt yourself trying to put it back together.

I plan to bide my time too. Thanks for responding. I did hear they are more concerned with stories that depict underaged characters in sexually explicit situations.
:iconxxmedicated:
I haven't hear much about it. Erotica is a popular part of dA literature, so I hope nothing too drastic is planned ^^;

I hope not too. I mean, how can you call a site "devaintART" and not expect some deviations from the literary norm?
